Getting older

You can probably tell from the Youtube trawl below that I was having a bit of a nostalgic trip.  It was my birthday yesterday, and a significant one.  So after the TV shows it was a trawl through the music (Youtube never let’s you down).  The Missus … being younger … went to bed with a pitiful look in her eyes.  Ah you had to be there to love it I guess, can’t blame her.  After a bit of Sammy Hagar, Jon of the Jovi, David Coverdale, the Roth, and even a bit of Gene with his formidable tongue I’m a bit depressed :/

Why?

• If I ever try to wear a pair of leather trousers I’ll look more like Hasselhof than Lee Roth … not good
• My hair will never again by long and flowing enough to be permed and backlit on a stadium stage
• I have to air guitar alone or with a lot of drunk people so I don’t become the target of pity (see above)
• My guitar skills still only stretch to the opening bars of a couple of Johnny Cash songs … despite being started over 20 years ago

Ah well :) You can’t have everything.  And with that I’ll leave you with the lads who are still doing it … to some extent

More memories from many clicks

This was released too late to be out at the time (by about 10 years I think), but it triggered vivid memories of me being in the southwest of France one summer.  A penniless traveller drinking cheap and nasty red wine, playing backgammon, eating fries in a baguette for most meals, falling madly in lust with a French Girl I could hardly talk to (shite at languages) and dancing till the sun came up in dodgy underground clubs.

 Good times :) 

Super cockroaches conceived in space

now this is the kind of thing you see at the start of a sci-fi movie just before the super cockroaches take over the Earth … eek

“Cockroaches recently conceived in space are superior to those born on Earth, reports the Russian Space Agency. The roaches were conceived during a September flight of the Russian Foton-M biological research satellite. From the Russian Information Agency Novosti: The research team has been monitoring the cockroaches since they were born in October. The scientists established that their limbs and bodies grew faster. “What is more, we have found out that the creatures… run faster than ordinary cockroaches, and are much more energetic and resilient,” Dmitry Atyakshin said.”

Driving around South County Dublin getting lunch and doing a little bit of shopping while trying to avoid the pricks in their 4x4/SUV/Tank’s who can’t even drive the god damn things properly!  Never mind the learner drivers :/

And don’t get me started on the fuckers who missed parking school up at Carrickmines…

What should have been a relaxing day ended up with the comment “Ah jayzuz let’s just get home in one piece and away from these fuckers”.
