Dammit
They lost by one point with 70 seconds to go. Fuck it I’m off to Africa for a fortnight. True and True
I contemplated blogging again tonight
Full domain the works … an urge but don’t know if it’s a sustainable one. It’d still have to be anon… Probably feel different in the morning, but Ecto felt so familiar. Know what I mean?
More respect for Leo
Having watched ‘Catch me if you can’, ‘The Departed’ and ‘Blood Diamond’ for the first time I’m starting ti get a bit of respect for Mr DiCaprio

Getting older
You can probably tell from the Youtube trawl below that I was having a bit of a nostalgic trip. It was my birthday yesterday, and a significant one. So after the TV shows it was a trawl through the music (Youtube never let’s you down). The Missus … being younger … went to bed with a pitiful look in her eyes. Ah you had to be there to love it I guess, can’t blame her....
Thank God for Twitter
Everybody who had nothing interesting to say, now says it on Twitter.
More memories from many clicks
This was released too late to be out at the time (by about 10 years I think), but it triggered vivid memories of me being in the southwest of France one summer. A penniless traveller drinking cheap and nasty red wine, playing backgammon, eating fries in a baguette for most meals, falling madly in lust with a French Girl I could hardly talk to (shite at languages) and dancing till the sun came...

Super cockroaches conceived in space
now this is the kind of thing you see at the start of a sci-fi movie just before the super cockroaches take over the Earth … eek “Cockroaches recently conceived in space are superior to those born on Earth, reports the Russian Space Agency. The roaches were conceived during a September flight of the Russian Foton-M biological research satellite. From the Russian Information Agency...

Driving around South County Dublin getting lunch and doing a little bit of shopping while trying to avoid the pricks in their 4x4/SUV/Tank’s who can’t even drive the god damn things properly! Never mind the learner drivers :/ And don’t get me started on the fuckers who missed parking school up at Carrickmines… What should have been a relaxing day ended up with the comment...
Very strange Google thing
If I log into GMail settings using Safari - no option to enable imap. If I log into GMail settings using Firefox- I get an option to enable imap. Why discriminate against Safari?
Vista
I just had my first exposure to Vista today. Helping somebody configure their new laptop. I’m hoping the throbbing pain in my head goes away soon. Dear God it’s annoying “Er are you sure you want to do that?” YES I FUCKING WELL OPENED THE APPLICATION!! OSX at home and Windows Professional in Corporate Life … hopefully they don’t make us upgrade soon.
What happens if the techs run the show?
When Ruby on Rails was released I was a big fan and looked at it very carefully. Then lost interest because of certain development directions. My background is straddling the divide between “The business” and “The techs” in real life. So what happens if you let the techs run the show and decide on direction? Well read this: DreamHost Blog » How Ruby on Rails Could...
Winning the fight
2008 - eep where is my life going Okay so I had the 31st off. Work was glorius because it was quiet and I could catch up a on a zillion things. But having a long weekend was a lot like slamming a car going at 140kmph into first gear … it’s going to be messy. So I feel the fingers of a cold reaching out for me but I’ll be damned if I’m going to get it. Having great fun...

Breathe out ... and relax
Presents bought. Too much money spent. I need to research what’s good and what’s not for women a little better next year. Scored last year with the prezzies, so hopefully I’m on a roll.
Oh shite
Friday before Christmas. No shopping done. Bollox my relaxing weekend just went phut!

Number the one - why does FF on my Powerbook suddenly decide to hog 80% of the CPU for no reason? Number the two - Radio 1 censors Pogues’ Fairytale … unbelievabe!! Eejits.
In or out
I once had an entire site that I wiped off the face of the virtual world with not a second’s hesitation. Sometimes I miss it, normally when I have ten minutes to myself, which is pretty rare these days. I miss it from a technical point of view. Would I set one up again? Maybe but i just don’t have the time. It would just get neglected very quickly. I like being to drop in and out...

Cleaning house
I hadn’t done any real maintainence on the powerbook for eons. But there was so much development crap on there that it was getting a little shaky. Nothing to do with the OS, but more of an issue of me playing in it’s bowels - so to speak. Complete reinstall feels good. I would have bought Leopard but we’re looking to get an iMac so it’ll come with that.

King Kong - the remake - the newest one. That scene where the bugs are crawling all over them is NOT a good thing to see on the TV first thing in the morning when you haven’t had yer first cup of coffee. Trust me

– Sun Tsu (related to annoying moment of the week)
Annoying point of the week … when somebody gave me an unsolicited opinion, I gave one back and they got annoyed at it. Eye rolling moment in time.
